A family foundation

Lasting change,
across generations.

We strengthen families, expand access to education and the arts, and help people facing hardship build more stable lives.

Our focus areas

Where we begin.

Family stability

Help families meet essential needs and find their footing during periods of hardship.

Educational opportunity

Give children access to learning resources and enrichment when cost or circumstance stands in the way.

Access to the arts

Open doors to music, creative learning and cultural experiences for children and families.

Our purpose

A family commitment,
shared across generations.

For our family, an overture is a beginning. Our shared love of music brought us together, and it gave this foundation its name.

Through annual fundraising and carefully chosen grants, we aim to give community organizations the resources to help a family through a difficult season or open a new possibility for a child.

Our approach

How we give.

Our first phase is planned around grants to verified U.S. public charities. Our board will review prospective recipients and awards.

Identify a concrete need

We start with a specific barrier a family or child faces and consider how a grant could help a community organization address it.

Select a community partner

We look for local knowledge, a clear plan for the funds and a close fit with one of our three priorities.

Account for the funds

We plan to document each award, agree on its intended use and ask partners to report on what the grant made possible.
